Missing Teeth - what are the options?

If you have missing teeth, there are 3 ways to achieve that natural look again - Dental Implants, bridges and denture.

What are Dental Implants?
Dental Implants are a long term solution for those with missing teeth. Implant-supported teeth look, feel and function like natural teeth. With an experienced team, dental implant treatment can be pain-free and predictable.
The dental implant is surgically placed in the jawbone and functions as an anchor for the replacement tooth. Titanium is used because it is the most biocompatible with our human body. After bonding is formed between the jawbone and the dental implant, the implant can then firmly support a crown, bridge or denture.
This procedure allows one or more teeth to be replaced without affecting neighboring teeth and is a long term solution for teeth loss.

Dental Bridges
Dental bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth.
A bridge is made up of two crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap -- these two anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth -- and a false tooth/teeth in between. These false teeth are called pontics and can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials. Dental bridges are supported by natural teeth or implants.

Denture
A denture (fake teeth) is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Two types of dentures are available -- complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.
